Learner’s Permit Course

If you’re 17 and want to start driving in The Bahamas, you need a learner’s permit first. 

How to Get It:

  • Be at least 17 years old

  • Go to the Road Traffic Department

  • Bring:

    • Valid ID (passport or birth certificate)

    • 2 passport photos

    • Application form

    • Fee ($20)

  • Pass written & take your permit photo

Rules While Driving:

  • Must be with a licensed driver over 21

  • No solo driving

  • Display “L” plate on your car

  • Follow all traffic laws

Once you’re ready, take the written and driving tests to get your full license.
